Effective Organizations Collect Deployment Data During Packaging
PSAppDeployToolkit doesn't require an app logo to install a package. Then why does Master Wrapper load it together with additional information?
Because we were slow without it.
We developed Master Wrapper to help packagers not only wrap packages into PSADT faster, but also to gather deployment data that saves time for everyone – for the packager, for the deployment engineer, for the support expert troubleshooting issues, for managers managing app info, and even for new packagers joining the team.
Previously, we packaged the app and handed it off to the deployment team – which then tried to guess missing info, like the correct app icon, detection method, Intune category, and possible installation properties. But all that info was available to the packager during packaging. We just ignored that. We didn't have a good packaging process.
Master Wrapper helps packagers capture deployment data during packaging:
- Application logo
- Application description
- Package detection information
- Application information URL
- Intune categories
- Notes

All this information, together with PSAppDeployToolkit V4 wrapped packages, is then available in the PSADT SupportFiles folder when using Master Wrapper.
Icon as a high-quality PNG file. Data in a clear .json file that everyone can access. Everyone can build automations using the data with internally built tools or reuse it when moving to a different deployment system.

Master Packager Toolbox is then designed to automatically use this data to do a one-click upload to Intune or PatchMyPC.

PSADT wrapper enables the package to be the source of truth. No scattered information. A future-proof process no matter what packaging tool and deployment system you use or will use.
The most effective team is not the one who can find the silent switch the fastest. It is the team who can get the package deployed the fastest without issues from the time it is requested. It is the team who can troubleshoot issues the fastest. It is the team that can onboard new members the smoothest. It is the team with a great packaging process.
A great packaging process makes application packaging easy and affordable.
